Jake the Failure (2023)

Psychological Drama · Award-Winning Short Film · 120K+ Organic Views

A psychological drama about a young parking attendant and aspiring writer struggling to balance survival and ambition. As he questions his life choices and sense of purpose, the film becomes a raw, honest portrayal of disillusionment and the quiet, painful gap between who we are and who we hope to be. Winner of Best Director and Best Screenplay at the 2023 FilAm Creative Film Festival, the short exemplifies the intimate, character-driven storytelling that continues into Floating in Riverview.

Through the Glass (2017)

Romantic Drama · Festival-Selected Short Film

A romantic short about a man sitting inside a coffee shop who tries to make a connection with a woman he sees outside the window. Told through quiet moments and emotional restraint, the film explores longing, courage, and the small chances we take to reach for connection. Its simplicity and grounded intimacy helped establish the tone and character-driven storytelling that has shaped my work — and naturally evolved into the emotional language behind Floating in Riverview.

Honorable Mention — 2017 Seal Beach Film Festival

Audience Insight Project: Riverview Interviews

An intimate series of interviews with young adults sharing honest stories about love, heartbreak, identity, and the fear of leaving home. These conversations reveal the emotional pressures and quiet truths shaped by college life today — the same themes at the heart of Floating in Riverview. Each moment has helped sharpen the tone, authenticity, and emotional realism guiding my first feature.

How This Work Leads Into

My First Feature

Each project I’ve made has been part of learning how to tell a story simply, clearly, and with intention. I’ve had to work with limited time, limited resources, and small teams — and those constraints shaped how I direct, communicate, and finish work. They taught me discipline, emotional clarity, and how to get to the heart of a moment without distracting noise.

Floating in Riverview is the film all of that has been leading toward. The themes, the tone, the focus on small human details — everything I’ve practiced is now coming together on a larger canvas. I know how to work efficiently, I know how to build trust with cast and crew, and I know how to bring a project across the finish line. I’m ready to take those same principles into my first feature.
